We are the departmental society for the Dyson School of Design Engineering at Imperial College London. We aim to provide our members extracurricular and social events to broaden their experience whilst studying at Imperial. From sports days and nights out to workshops and industry talks, we’re here to create community and inspire a culture of innovation. We hope you have a fantastic year!

We also offer a broad reach across campuses. Our flagship events are open to all, and we strongly encourage everyone to get involved! Design engineering is a diverse and exciting field, where people from all disciplines come together to solve problems. Everyone brings something different to the team, so look out for our competitions and large scale events!

Our brand new Ideas Lab is open to all members and has fantastic designing and prototyping facilities. Get access to laser cuts, CNC machines, 3D printers and more.

The Design Engineering Society is a student-led initiative formed out of the new Dyson School of Design Engineering. The school runs an undergraduate MEng in Design Engineering and 2 double masters with the Royal College of Art. At the Design Engineering Society we aim to inspire a culture of innovation through the fusion of creativity and technology.

Dyson was a significant sponsor in 2018/19 and helped us achieve best society at Imperial. We ran a Makeathon together and supported general recruitment activities through publicity and a careers fair. Dyson gone on to hire a number of students for industrial placement and graduate rolls - consolidating the already close link with the Dyson School.
